The Blessing of Being of Service

Give for the sake of giving, love for the sake of loving,

serve for the sake of serving….

While sitting in the office doing the dreaded paper work that so often brings me down, I was unexpectedly overcome with a delightful sensation of joy and peace. This feeling rarely conjures within me while doing one of my least favorite activities. The thought suddenly came upon me of how blessed I truly am to be able to serve my fellow human “BEINGS”  with the Principle of Chiropractic. Each day I receive warm, sincere gratitude from dozens of people that I get to serve by delivering life restoring Chiropractic adjustments. Every day I listen to the excitement of others as they testify to positive changes they experience in their health and life as a result of my knowledge and care. Each day I get to see and feel improvements in how their spine, nerve system and body works and know I am making a positive impact in their life, the community and the world.

Whether you are a mum attending to the needs of your family, a clerk being of service to a customer or an accountant looking after the needs of a client, get lost in your service of others.  Aim to make each interaction and experience with each human being you serve one in which they feel your care and concern. Be present with everyone with the intention of doing your best. As one of my mentors taught me, the late, great James Sigafoose, “Give for the sake of giving, love for the sake of loving and serve for the sake of serving.”
